Design & Build

The PW315 sports a compact, understated design with a cylindrical body wrapped in a matte-black soft-touch finish. The integrated monitor clip is spring-loaded with a rubber lining that grips securely without scratching displays up to 40 mm thick. A standard 1/4-inch tripod mount on the bottom allows for flexible positioning. The 1.5-meter captive USB-C cable is non-detachable, which is a minor inconvenience for cable management. A physical privacy shutter is built into the lens barrel, rotating closed with a satisfying click. Build quality is solid with no rattles or loose panels.

Performance

The STARVIS sensor delivers noticeably better low-light performance than typical webcam sensors. In a dimly lit room at 50 lux, the PW315 maintains a clean image at 1080p 30 fps with minimal noise, while the 60 fps mode is well suited for streaming fast-moving content. The auto-exposure handles mixed lighting reasonably well, though it can hunt when transitioning between bright and dark backgrounds. Color reproduction is accurate with a slight warmth to skin tones, and the 95-degree FOV captures a wide background without introducing too much distortion at the edges. Autofocus is dual-camera fast, locking onto faces quickly and tracking movement smoothly.
